Light List #..... 6460-6470
There is a privately maintained fixed set of range lights (293° M). The town of Luna Pier water tower lies one mile south-west, and the Consumers Energy Power Plant, with three matching stacks, is 2.5 miles south of that.
Approaching from the East, take a course of 322° M from the Toledo Harbor Light. Deep draft sailors, beware of shallow water off the Monroe Power plant. It is suggested to pass the Monroe Channel outer markers on the East side.
The entrance is between two rock breakwaters about 100 feet apart with a dredged depth of 7 feet on a course of 293° M. The south breakwater light is a green strobe, the north breakwater light is a red strobe (much brighter). Deep draft vessels should approach on the range to remain in un-marked dredged channel which extends 500 yards beyond the breakwaters.
